Cass Materialism is where I post occasional dispatches on financial and economic developments that I find particularly interesting and possibly indicative of larger trends in finance.

My experience as a financial journalist is primarily in risk and capital markets. This, and the fact that I have covered about 25* flameouts and crises in the 30ish years I have done this job, leads me to be somewhat skeptical about Wall Street.
